Daniele - I don't understand the "fraud issue" can you elaborate ? Sites like Gumroad allow this kind of rating and it works great. I wrote a full PDF as lead magnet and I really would like to be able to get people rating as I am sure it would be great and share the rating on my socials.

does gumroad display a notice when a review is on a free order?

Daniele - I understand and people might. However, you still need a valid email to be used up and additionally if the guy as tons of review on its free products and 0 or way less on its paid ones, it's still suspect for the buyer and less engaging to pay for. i'm not sure we're going to implement this, we just had an occasion where people have been spamming our API to create orders, flag them as paid and then spam fake reviews
enabling people to leave feedback on free products would only worsen these kind of things
we might enable merchants to provide a trustpilot link or similar to leave reviews

Daniele I am not the most technical guy but that sound more like an API setting issue. There's multiple ways to avoid this kind of issue : API Rate Limiting, API Authentication, CAPTCHA, Customer account verification, Review time protection (need to let X time pass before user can review). To me this is a deal breaker, please make that happe soon.

Daniele any update ? It's hard to understand how something like this could take 6 months to even consider implementing. Would really appreciate some positive update.
